Impulse Printing was set up in mid-1996 as the Offset Printing division of a copying company to print covers and special inserts for digital copied jobs. Humble beginnings, indeed, however within 12 months, Impulse had extended the range of products to include nearly all types of high quality printing jobs from business cards to annual reports.

In late 1999 after the businesses changed ownership, the Impulse division was formed into Impulse Printing Pty Ltd. Barely 16 months later on the 2nd April, 2001, Impulse took over G&E Printing from West End in Brisbane.

During its 5th year, Impulse Digital Printing Pty Ltd was added and the “group” underwent further restructuring with additional new equipment upgrades and replacements.

This has now turned us into even more dynamic and progressive entities with well over 270 years of experience amongst the staff to offer our clients the best possible service.

This diversity of staff experience shows up in the relationship they develop with their clients which not only takes into consideration their printing and design requirements, but includes ‘good old fashioned’ friendly service & personal attention.

Located just 10 minutes from the CBD of Brisbane, Impulse supplies printing to their extensive client base from far as far afield as North Queensland to Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Darwin, Canberra, Mexico, Norfolk Island and the U.K.

Personnel

John McKone is the Managing Director with over four decades of experience in all aspects of the printing industry including sales, publishing and all levels of management.

Brian Halvorsen, the company’s New Business Development and Sales Manager, is often the first person at Impulse that a client consults with. He possesses vast knowledge in digital & offset printing and has the capacity to communicate & organise after a working life dealing with clients’ requirements.

Emanuel Papamanolis, formerly with G&E Printing at West End, is Sales co-ordinator and generally attends to the print requirements of clients. With extensive knowledge in printing spanning over 25 years and all aspects of finishing and pre-press, he is our “Greek connection” with many clients in the Greek community

John Miesen is the Pre-Press and Digital Manager. His responsibilities include digital printing & the production of film for offset printing. He has a wealth of knowledge after more than two decades in pre-press and desktop publishing.

Trina McKone looks after the accounts and administration side of the business and has been involved in printing, publishing and office admin throughout her working life.

Robin McKone is Print Estimator and comes to Impulse with over 30 years experience in newspaper print pre-press production and works closely with the sales team.

Kim Stuart, our talented Graphic Designer with around 20 years of experience, has a very impressive portfolio of top designs to her credit encompassing some of the big names around town. She has a “Feel” for a client’s graphic needs and with her natural “Flair” can transfer this to a finished product.

Cassandra Dunkley has over 8 years experience in Digital Printing, Pre-Press and Graphic Design. Her responsibilities involve designing jobs through to the final stages of outputting either Digitally or to Film for offset printing.

Missy Halvorsen, Brian’s wife, is another member of the team who is multi-skilled, assisting Trina in the administration section, print finishing and the digital printing area.

Sunil Chand has had around 20 years experience in the pre-press area, both in Australia and overseas. His position includes film & plate making, making proofs and print finishing.

Ewen Phelps is a highly skilled printing machinist of many years experience in the U.K. who ensures that clients’ jobs meet with or exceed their expectations from the press, producing printing of the highest standard.

Shane Murray is another exacting printing machinist in the Impulse crew whose high standard of work ethic proudly rounds off the print production team of expert craftsmen in their trade.

Julian Hood , the last member of our team who looks after the print finishing section which includes guillotining, folding, collating, stitching, paper stores and stock control.
